About
Abby Wood is an arts and culture journalist, copywriter and editor, and digital marketer from the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Her love for music began at a young age: with four older, musically-inclined siblings, a folk-singing mother, and a father who listened to nothing but the oldies station, Abby was influenced by all genres from folk-rock and jam bands to alternative and indie groups, eventually leading to her own broad, complex musical tastes.
A graduate of Williams College, Abby has written for multiple Berkshire publications, including the North Adams Transcript, the Berkshire Eagle, Berkshires Week, Berkshire Living, and the Rogovoy Report. Her professional career has already seen an array of writing positions, including editorial assistant for a cultural magazine, community manager of a health and beauty website, content writer for a charter school, social media specialist for a luxury bedding and home decor company, and digital marketing manager for a world-renowned dance festival.
Abby graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with an M.A. in Arts & Culture Journalism in the spring of 2014. She currently works as the Digital Marketing Manager for Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, while continuing to write for local and online publications.
