While the county’s art institutions will bring in major works from Europe, Asia, and across the U.S. this summer, artists Tracy Baker-White and Stephanie Boyd will celebrate the local environment at their new pop-up space in Williamstown, Terra Gallery.

Baker-White will be presenting a new body work of some of her favorite local landscapes, including Field Farm in Williamstown. Boyd is also inspired by the unique environmental conditions of the Berkshires, which are reflected in her earthy, functional ceramics. The gallery will also feature still-life and figure paintings by Julia Morgan-Learnon and Pat White, as well as beaded jewelry by Beth Carlisle.

“We just hope to contribute to the cultural landscape here,” says Baker-White, “and make it as vibrant as it really is.” Terra Gallery will be joined by other pop-up shops over in North Adams this summer, part of the annual Downstreet Art series. Each year, the public-art project transforms vacant and open spaces into art destinations. Running June 25 to September 24, 2015 the series includes “Downstreet Art Thursdays,” celebrations on the last Thursday of each month.
