Let Them Eat Crêpe [Berkshire Magazine]
Oh Crêpe! restaurant has a menu featuring both sweet and savory
As published in Berkshire Magazine, July 2015
When Emily Schiavoni and husband Benjamin Lamb—self-proclaimed crêpe addicts—decided to open their own crêperie, they knew there could be no better place than downtown North Adams. But it wasn’t until they launched an online crowd-funding campaign that they realized just how much community support they had.
“For us, it was really a way to figure out what the pulse was locally,” says Lamb, also a North Adams city councilor. “t was sort of a reassurance that this was a really great idea.”
Oh Crêpe! opened in May of this year, just in time for the couple’s portable food creations to hit the summer streets and festivals, with a menu featuring both sweet and savory options filled with locally sourced ingredients. Lamb says the crowd favorite is a toss-up between the “Mountaineer” (eggs, cheese, spinach, and bacon) and the “Strawberry Fields” (strawberries, Nutella, and yogurt). His personal pick is the “Carmapple.”
“I’m usually running around like crazy,” Lamb says, “so it’s one that I can grab it, run wherever I have to go, and eat it on the way.”
